Using LNG

What equipment is required to use liquefied natural gas (LNG) ?
You will need an LNG satellite plant, which consists of a cryogenic tank, a vaporization system and an odorizer, all available from AXÈGAZ.

What is the role of each part of the LNG facility ?
The cryogenic tank keeps LNG in the liquid phase at -160 °C. The vaporization system heats up the LNG and turns it into the gas phase. The purpose of the odorizer is to be able to trace the gas in the event of leakage.

What is a "satellite" ?
Satellite plant is the term used to describe the equipment implemented by AXÈGAZ on the customer’s premises for the consumption of LNG.

Does the switch to liquefied natural gas (LNG) require replacing the boiler burner ?
It all depends on the equipment in place.
AXÈGAZ can provide expert advice in this regard to customers.

What consumption level makes it worth switching to LNG ?
LNG is primarily intended for industrial consumption above 2 GWh/year. AXÈGAZ is at your disposal to conduct a personalized study of your facility.

I have an LPG tank, can I use it for liquefied natural gas (LNG) ?
No, LNG storage tanks are different: they have double containers to keep LNG at -160 °C.

How is the LNG level monitored in the tank ?
We use telemetry technology to monitor constantly your stock of LNG, so as to arrange for deliveries at the optimal frequency.

Who draws up the plans and installs the LNG satellite plant ?
AXÈGAZ handles the installation of the LNG satellite and the customer usually handles the civil engineering works.

Can one imagine a tank and a distribution network supplying several users ?
Of course, a single satellite plant can serve several users in a network, and each customer is equipped with a meter.

If an LNG terminal closes down, do you have alternative solutions ?
Given the diversity of LNG terminals, we have changeover plans that allow AXÈGAZ to diversify its resources constantly.
